Why do we stop ourselves from doing what we love?
Fear of failure. Fear of judgment. Fear of criticism.
The list can go on but at the end of the day sometimes our biggest obstacle is ourselves because we are afraid to fail. We are afraid to look stupid, being wrong, or afraid to be labeled in a certain way. In order to create something new, exciting, or innovative, you need to step out of your comfort zone and JUST DO IT! Sounds easy enough right, but its harder then you think. But I promise that once you get started and get that ball rolling, you will love it and start to crave the warm fuzzy feeling it gives you. For years, I had the desire to start a podcast/blog/online community where I would be able to incorporate the many things that I loved, all while being able to express my opinions in writing and in audio form. In the months leading up to our first post and podcast, I was unsure and scared of how people would react (if any) and how the podcast would be received. I then realized that my fear of failure was paralzying me to not follow my intuiton. Up to this point, I had been working on another radio show and liked it, but the concept as a whole was not in my heart. Then "life" presented an opportunity to head in a different direction, and I knew it was time.
In Summa Vigilia was born and here we are today. We are a group of individuals who want to contribute a small grain of positivity to this world and lose that fear of "being wrong" in the process. We are a work in progress, but realized that we are creative people who needed an outlet to express what we felt and loved. So, I encourage you to lose your fear and to JUST DO IT! Do what you love, even if it is after your day job, even if it is on a small scale, even if its only a couple of people suporting you. If you do things with a passion and with your whole heart, people will notice and listen to your message. I can assure you that you will have one supporter in myslef!
Stay Blessed and Wide Awake fam!
